CleanMed 2025 took place in person at in Atlanta May 6-8. CleanMed featured a STAT! Talks plenary session, a series of captivating, 10-minute talks, featuring thought-provoking stories on a variety of health care sustainability topics.

Sustainability programs that align with organizational priorities will gain senior leadership’s support and lead to long-term success. Most top-performing health organizations have an executive-level champion at the top of their sustainability reporting structure. This brings credibility and authority to a sustainability program, setting a tone from the top that this work is essential, and so is resourcing it. Acquiring leadership support can sometimes be a tall order.

Then hear from Vancouver Coastal Health about their Reusables First project – an effort to prioritize the purchase of reusable or reprocessable products over single-use ones to minimize waste and reduce environmental impact – which they carried out in close partnership with their supply chain.
