What is a virtual cohort?
Virtual cohorts are groups of sustainability and health care professionals of Practice Greenhealth hospital and health system partners (and invited guests) meeting to learn from peers and experts in the field, develop new strategies to overcome barriers and challenges to implementing sustainability initiatives, and grow their network with new connections to leaders and innovators.
Virtual cohorts are reserved for hospital and health system partners, for all other affiliate, allied and academic partners, please view industry partner opportunities.
How does it work?
Cohorts meet virtually with a Practice Greenhealth facilitator for recurring sessions of perspective, peer engagement, and progress.
“Calls are very informative and cover topics in my area of expertise. We’re just launching an initiative and I’m looking to learn as much as I can on how to successfully implement the changes.”
– GOR cohort participant

Many products and materials that come into hospitals may contain or release carcinogens, reproductive toxins, or other hazardous materials, exposing patients, staff, and the community to harm. Purchased goods and services also account for a majority of the energy and water use by the sector. Participants meet to share best practices in engaging group purchasing organizations (GPO) and suppliers, integrating environmentally preferable purchasing (EPP) in value analysis, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Also, time is reserved during each session for participants to receive quick problem-solving advice on any timely issues or challenges.
