Katie leads our Environmental Excellence Awards program. With a background in ecology and environmental biology, she has 10 years of experience in experiential environmental education and has worked at RUSH University Medical Center for five years, in facilities management and sustainability. She was named one of Crain’s 2023 Notable Leaders in Sustainability. Passionate about the benefits of letting your landscaping go a little wild, she is Treekeeper #1754 through Openlands and has an Instagram page where she posts photos of native plants in her small Illinois yard.

Chelsea is responsible for our data and metrics deliverables, maintaining our data platforms, and awards benchmarking. With nine years of experience in the health care field, they previously served as sustainability coordinator for UT Southwestern Medical Center and as management engineer for Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas, focusing on process improvement, data analysis, and related areas. They live in Dallas with their partner Victoria and dog Gracie, and love traveling, hiking, listening to audiobooks while walking Gracie, and riding their e-bike all over town.

Tim brings several years of experience in the health care supply chain specializing in the operating room. John has been in the sustainability field for over a decade, and most recently at Harvard University’s Office for Sustainability, where he helped advance their healthier building materials program. John earned an MBA and a Master of Environmental Management from Duke University, and he graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a B.S. in molecular and cellular biology. At the start of his career, he worked as a cancer researcher at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. John is excited to be advocating for his two passions: sustainability and public health.
