Mariano brings extensive experience working with civil society networks and coalitions to influence change at the national and global levels.

Haley brings over a decade of experience in communications and sustainability program coordination in the nonprofit and government sectors. She comes to Health Care Without Harm from Philadelphia’s Office of Sustainability, where she led communications efforts and municipal waste minimization projects. In her spare time, you can find her spending time outdoors, relaxing along the Jersey Shore, and searching for the best breakfast sandwich in Philadelphia.

John loves food and spends most of his day thinking about what he will make for dinner. When he isn’t meal planning, John leads the organization’s work on the intersection between food and climate. He supports health care organizations in implementing plant-forward menus, and in reducing food waste through source reduction and donation. He earned his Master of Science from Tufts University’s Friedman School of Nutrition, specializing in the agriculture, food, and environment program.

Kevin is responsible for communications about the organization as a whole. He works to increase the visibility of the organization and its programs, promote its successes, and raise awareness about the unique needs and opportunities for sustainability in the health care sector. He has more than 20 years of experience in all aspects of marketing and communications, including web and print design, conference planning, advertising, and public relations. Kevin earned an MBA in marketing from Loyola University in Chicago.

With years of experience in health care sustainability program development and green building advocacy, Matt is inspired by how the environments we create can support wellness. He understands that while hospitals navigate their own sustainability initiatives, they can draw on the success of peers facing similar challenges to find a way forward. Based in Ohio near the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Matt enjoys playing soccer and finding new ways to explore the world with his wife, baby, and dog.

Paul brings more than three decades of diverse nonprofit management and leadership to the organization. Prior to joining Health Care Without Harm and Practice Greenhealth in 2011, Paul served as director of programs for the Healthy Building Network, as programs director at the international environmental organization Greenpeace, and as strategic campaigns coordinator for the United Steelworkers of America. His mix of strategic program development and innovative program structures brings critical experience to the integration, growth, and success of the organization.

Kervi brings several years of experience across diverse HR functions. Her journey at Health Care Without Harm and Practice Greenhealth began as an intern, before she was promoted to HR and administrative coordinator and then people and culture manager. She previously served in a local government HR role, advising on employee relations matters and conducting investigations. When not spending time with her kids and husband, she enjoys outdoor adventures, trying new restaurants, attending musical performances, and kicking back with a good book.

Emma has dedicated herself over the last 25 years to building a better food system – one that nourishes our bodies, our communities, and our planet. In her current role, she leads a team of content experts and organizers to engage the health care sector to use its economic, social, and political influence to support the development of healthy, sustainable, and equitable food systems. Emma holds a master’s degree in urban and environmental planning from Arizona State University.

Before joining Health Care Without Harm, Erin led global programs at Bohemian Foundation, managing a portfolio of international grants and other investments addressing global challenges in health, poverty, and the environment. Christopher’s role at Practice Greenhealth is to help the sector become more sustainable through data collection, analysis, and reporting.
