Environmental Excellence Awards application submission checklist
Preparing your Environmental Excellence Awards application due April 15? Follow our submission checklist:
- Complete your emissions categories: If you need help calculating a Scope 3 category, follow our video walkthrough using our Health Care Emissions Impact Calculator.* Scope 1 and 2 data and at least one category of Scope 3 are basic requirements if you’re participating to win an award.
- Hit the “Review this application” button early: Review your application before April 15 to ensure that all required questions are answered and metrics look accurate. If you accidentally submit before you’re ready, we can send it back to you.
- Provide success stories on the pages you are submitting for scoring: Take 10 minutes to brag about an outcome you’re most proud of – even if you already mentioned it. Success stories are a great source of points as they affect the autoscore, quality score, and are a source of innovation points. Learn more about scoring.
- Email your excel file to awards@practicegreenhealth.org by April 1: If you are using the excel upload file, we need it early to allow enough time for us to upload it, and for you to review and submit the application.
- Most importantly – don’t stress: You probably haven’t answered every question – and that’s okay. Our goal for this program is to help you build your sustainability programs, and celebrate progress as a health care sector. By participating, you're demonstrating the impact of sustainability work in the health care sector.
*We’ve identified that the v2.2 version of the calculator contains an error for Natural Gas emissions in Category 3 of Scope 3. We're working on an updated version of the tool for release later this spring, but for this application cycle, we recommend that you use the v2.0 version to calculate your Scope 3 Category 3 emissions.
P.S. Feeling overwhelmed navigating the Waste page? Watch our video walkthrough to understand the data we ask for, where to find it, and how tracking waste streams can identify meaningful waste reduction opportunities.
