With nine years of experience in the health care field, they previously served as sustainability coordinator for UT Southwestern Medical Center and as management engineer for Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas, focusing on process improvement, data analysis, and related areas. They live in Dallas with their partner Victoria and dog Gracie, and love traveling, hiking, listening to audiobooks while walking Gracie, and riding their e-bike all over town.

John has been in the sustainability field for over a decade, and most recently at Harvard University’s Office for Sustainability, where he helped advance their healthier building materials program. John earned an MBA and a Master of Environmental Management from Duke University, and he graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a B.S. in molecular and cellular biology. At the start of his career, he worked as a cancer researcher at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. John is excited to be advocating for his two passions: sustainability and public health.

Before joining Health Care Without Harm, he was program manager at Rockwood Leadership Institute, where he shepherded fellowships focused on supporting the leadership of a network of BIPOC philanthropy staffers, filmmakers, executive directors, and other nonprofit leaders.
