Practice Greenhealth provides a presentation that can be used as a foundation for a discussion or community education event on climate and health. This slide deck is intended to give you a variety of slides that you can pull from, depending on your need. The slide deck goes through the background first: climate change science, health impacts of climate change, and different energy sources. Then it reviews the three pillars of climate health: mitigation, resilience, and leadership, along with tools for each of those solutions.

(Greenhouse gas reduction toolkit) Climate change is the greatest public health threat and opportunity of the 21st century. To reduce the health impacts of climate change, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions must be reduced, and hospitals have an essential role to play. Solving health problems always starts with setting a goal. Establishing a clear, ambitious target can motivate staff and help drive strategies for success. Practice Greenhealth developed resources to help hospitals and health systems track GHG emissions and set reduction goals.

The hospital changed to non-antimicrobial hand soap in non-clinical areas and a triclosan-free antimicrobial hand soap (containing chloroxylenol) in clinical areas. The… Read More
