The psychology of climate change as a force for good
March 23, 2023 12:00 PM ET
The mental health impacts of climate change are profoundly felt by those working in health care and beyond. People living in historically underserved communities and people of color feel the effects exponentially and have been leading the environmental justice movement for decades. Pittsburgh, CleanMed 2023’s host city, is no exception.
Hear from two University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) doctors who are exploring the mental health impacts of climate change on health care workers and how practices that underpin sustainability can help sustain individuals, drive change, and build hope in communities. The webinar features a 15-minute Q&A.

Breaking down IRA funds & the HHS pledge
Feb. 2, 2023 12:00 PM ET
In the past year, two major federal actions have brought new opportunities for health care climate action. Through HHS’ Health Sector Climate Pledge, more than 100 organizations representing 837 hospitals have committed to decarbonizing their operations and increasing resilience. The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) was also signed into law, bringing $369 billion in investments to drive the growth of clean energy and cut the nation’s climate impact.
Hear from two Health Care Without Harm climate experts and Hackensack Meridian Health’s VP of sustainability, who will share what the HHS pledge means for your hospitals and how IRA funding can help health care organizations advance their climate goals.
