Food service cohort session: Using plant-forward menus & the Coolfood Pledge to reduce Scope 3 emissions

Date range
Description

Plant-forward menus reduce a hospital’s Scope 3 emissions while maintaining customer and patient satisfaction. In this cohort session, facilitators will engage participants in a discussion and an interactive exercise with Practice Greenhealth partners to illustrate effective strategies for success.

Discussion questions:

  • What successful strategies have you used to reduce GHG emissions from food purchasing? (Success = emissions reductions without compromising sales and satisfaction)
  • How do you track progress in reducing GHG emissions from food, and how do you communicate your progress?
  • What are your biggest barriers or challenges in reducing GHGs from food purchasing?
