Climate change is a growing public health concern. Rising temperatures, sea level rise, increasing carbon dioxide levels, and extreme weather events are threat multipliers of social determinants of health, with the most severe harms falling disproportionately upon underserved communities.
Explore how to use existing processes – including the community health needs assessment (CHNA), hazard vulnerability analysis (HVA), and community health improvement plan (CHIP) – to understand climate-related community health risks and needs, align sustainability and climate work with hospital mission, engage with communities, and co-develop solutions that build resilience and improve health and health equity.
