Strategies for reducing supply chain emissions at University of California Health

Date range
June 3, 2026
2–3 pm ET (11 am–12 pm PT)
partners-exclusive
Description

This session explored how the University of California (UC) Health translated its Scope 3 greenhouse gas inventory into a structured roadmap for supply chain emissions reduction across a large, multi-site health system.

Participants learned how inventory results were used to catalyze cross-functional engagement and identify high-impact reduction strategies, even in the absence of perfect data. The presentation will examine how UC Health engaged suppliers, supply chain professionals, sustainability teams, clinicians, and students to co-develop actionable initiatives. Presenters also shared the development of a decision-support tool to estimate emissions reductions and prioritize initiatives into a practical roadmap aligning climate impact, cost savings, and other co-benefits.

Attendees left with practical strategies for moving from measurement to implementation in complex health system environments.

Listen to the on-demand recording to learn how to:

  • Apply stakeholder engagement strategies to advance supply chain decarbonization across departments and external partners.
  • Develop practical approaches to estimating greenhouse gas reduction potential when data is incomplete.
  • Translate Scope 3 inventory results into a prioritized, actionable supply chain emissions reduction roadmap.
