Three health system sustainability managers describe their organizations’ sustainability journeys, offering insights on how to engage and manage stakeholder expectations, build momentum, increase program visibility, and create effective governance structures.

Using Practice Greenhealth’s Program Fundamentals and Effective Governance toolkits as frameworks, presenters discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the three programs and the struggles and successes they faced while integrating sustainability within their organizations. Speakers evaluate the effectiveness of historical and current governance structures, explore the importance of an executive sponsor or liaison in the C-suite, and share key ways to engage an executive sponsor that increase program visibility, engagement, and overall impact.
