Local Man Honored for Hospital Recycling Program

April 5, 2006 – St. Joseph’s Medical center in Stockton is receiving national attention for its recycling efforts, and Patterson resident John Kendle has been instrumental in making that happen.
For the past seven months, Kendle has headed up a program that recycles 27 percent of the Stockton hospital’s waste. Now, the hospital is receiving the Environmental Leadership Award from Hospitals for a Healthy Environment.
In the next few weeks, he will travel to Seattle to receive awards for his work and to Washington, D.C., to be honored by former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich.
