Energy & Greenhouse Gas Management: Transitioning of EPA Programs
Wednesday, October 26, 2011 1:00 P.M. – 2:30 P.M. (Eastern)
-- An ENERGY STAR® Energy Management Networking Web Conference
September 30, 2011 was a significant day for EPA programs focused on inventorying and reporting greenhouse gas emissions. EPA officially ended the Climate Leaders program on the day that marked the first deadline for submitting annual GHG emission reports under the federal Greenhouse Gas Reporting Rule.
With the advent of the EPA’s GHG Reporting Program and the availability of climate programs operated by states and NGOs that focus on inventorying, goal setting, and recognition, EPA decided to end the Climate Leaders partnership program. Some aspects of the Climate Leaders program will continue on in a new format and much of the guidance and inventorying methods developed through Climate Leaders are now part of the GHG Reporting Program.
This web conference will look at the transition of the Climate Leaders program and the future of the GHG Reporting Program, including what data will be made publically available. Joining us to discuss their respective programs are:
- John Sottong from Climate Leaders; and
- Katherine Sibold, from the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program.
