Webinar: Health Advocates for Chemicals Policy Reform
Powerful Message, Trusted Messengers
Health Advocates United for Chemical Policy Reform
A Webinar for Allies and Interested Groups
Hosted by the Health Task Force of Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families (SCHF)
Thursday, October 6, 11am PST/2pm EST
Many of the products we use every day, like plastic food containers, children’s toys, and even clothing, contain toxic chemicals. Mounting scientific evidence links these chemicals to serious disease and disability, including infertility, cancer, and learning and developmental disabilities. In response to these alarming facts and a groundswell of public support, a national coalition has come together to prioritize the health of our communities and pass common-sense limits on toxic chemicals. We know that health advocates are some of the most powerful and trusted messengers for chemical policy reform. This webinar will provide an opportunity to hear coalition leaders give an update from Capitol Hill, discuss the importance and power of the health message, and share exciting opportunities for your organization to “plug in” to this campaign. We will also spotlight the work of health advocates from around the country, and create a space where you can share your thoughts, ideas, and questions.
Speakers Include:
Nancy Buermeyer, Breast Cancer Fund
Donna Ferullo, The Autism Society
Andy Igrejas, Safer Chemicals Healthy Families
Kimberly Inez McGuire, Reproductive Health Technologies Project
Mark Mitchell, National Medical Association
Maureen Swanson, Learning Disabilities Association of America
