Augustine Temperature Management manufactures and markets the HotDog patient warming system. HotDog warming was developed by the same team that invented Bair Hugger® forced-air warming over 20 yrs ago. This next generation technology is made with patented ThermAssure™ conductive fabric to safely maintain patient normothermia without blowing hot air.
Clinically Superior Patient Warming: Published research shows HotDog is equally effective as forced-air warming, but customer trials have shown that HotDog is more effective. HotDog is also safer--especially in orthopedics and cardiac--because there's no disruptive waste heat contaminating the sterile field. Even with these benefits, it's still less expensive, saving customers up to 50%.
HotDog patient warming is the eco-healthy patient warming solution. It's reusable so it eliminates constant disposable waste. Additionally, it consumes 80% less energy than forced-air warming machines. A typical small-mid size hospital with 10 warming machines will have the following yearly savings by switching to HotDog warming:
- 6,544 lbs of waste eliminated
- 900 fewer gallons of crude oil burned, or
- 13,792.41 fewer lbs of coal burned
