Business Member Directory: unlimited listings! All Practice Greenhealth Business Members list themselves by product and service category in the Directory, so that healthcare facilities can quickly find a Business Member based on the particular products or services the Business Member offers. Business Members may update their listings at any time and may include product information, web links and a graphic on their directory page. Number of listings is unlimited. Logo Use Members may use the Practice Greenhealth Member logo to advertise that they are a Practice Greenhealth Business Member. Our members may use the logo on their marketing materials, website, trade show booths and communications. Awards Practice Greenhealth Environmental Excellence Awards are given only to Practice Greenhealth members. Award are given at the CleanMed annual conference. Many award winners have received positive press coverage, and award winners are indicated in the Business Member Directory. Membership Press Release Practice Greenhealth provides members with model press releases which they may customize to release when they first join Practice Greenhealth and each year when they renew their membership. Practice Greenhealth will post membership announcement press releases on the Practice Greenhealth Press Release page. Members‐Only Practice Greenhealth Facility Data on Environmental Practices Practice Greenhealth collects data from its member hospitals, providing a wealth of useful information on PGH facilities, including what environmental and green building activities the facilities are prioritizing, purchasing preferences, which plastics are being recycled, who leads the sustainability effort in facilities, statistics on reusables and reprocessing, environmental program implementation, waste reduction, energy efficiency, green team development, recycling practices and more. Webinar Subscription Membership includes a subscription to all ongoing webinar programs and access to webinar archives. Many suppliers and service providers find the monthly webinars a useful way to learn about new environmental challenges and how hospitals are dealing with them. This information can then be used to inform the development of new products, services or marketing strategies. CleanMed Conference Exhibitor & Registration Discount Practice Greenhealth Business Members receive a 10% discount when registering as an exhibitor at the CleanMed conference, the premier environmental conference for healthcare. Sponsorship Opportunities Practice Greenhealth Business Members can sponsor the development of new Practice Greenhealth resources such as how‐to guides, web content and other documents. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for Practice Greenhealth trainings, webinars, awards and events. We work with our members to find the right sponsorship opportunity for them. Additional Services for Large Members For larger‐size members, Practice Greenhealth listens to the member’s needs and develops a partner relationship to ensure member’s objectives are met. Examples include regular updates on environmental trends and emerging environmental issues in healthcare, custom demographic information on Practice Greenhealth hospital environmental practices, training on how health care environmental purchasing works, assistance with prioritizing environmental activities and developing accurate and appealing language to describe products’ environmental attributes.

To be eligible to join Practice Greenhealth, a product manufacturer, service provider, consultant or other business serving the health care sector must document that its policies, products, services and operations are either in, or moving toward support of Practice Greenhealth’s mission to positively transform health care’s environmental footprint. While it is the clear focus of Practice Greenhealth to support/assist qualified businesses in their sustainability efforts and to move businesses toward increased focus on issues of environmental concern, it is not the role of Practice Greenhealth to bolster the image or visibility of companies that do not demonstrate legitimate attention to such issues. The application process is therefore designed to ascertain whether or not a business is dedicated to greater environmental sustainability and is serious in its commitment.
The following questions will help determine the eligibility of business applicants. Practice Greenhealth reserves the right to accept or reject applicants on the basis of its own internal assessment informed by, but not restricted to, the information provided below. Please review and complete the questionnaire below to establish your qualification as a Practice Greenhealth business member.
This form is kept confidential by Practice Greenhealth and is shared only with the Business Membership Program staff and the Membership Committee.
Has your organization adopted or is it currently utilizing a sustainability platform designed for continuous improvement that establishes environmental sustainability mission, vision, goals and measures that fit within the overall organizational mission, vision and goals?
If no sustainability platform exists, is your business willing to commit to developing and implementing such a platform or program in the first six months of Practice Greenhealth membership?
Has your business demonstrated leadership in the marketplace in promoting/accomplishing environmentally meaningful alterations in its products, processes and purchasing habits?
Will your company partner with Practice Greenhealth in its Greening the Supply Chain Initiative in an ongoing effort to effect continuous improvements that promote the goals of Practice Greenhealth in any of the following areas? (Check each that applies.)
Is your business willing to partner with Practice Greenhealth on areas of environmental concern relative to business practices, products and processes?
Is your business leading or actively involved in any lobbying activity or media efforts that would undermine the basic tenets of Practice Greenhealth’s mission? (Please list the trade groups to which you belong in the comment section below.)
Is your business involved in the incineration of waste (other than pathological, anatomical or trace chemotherapy) in geographic areas where viable treatment or disposal alternatives are acceptable per state regulation?
If yes, can you document that your business is actively encouraging and supporting source reduction, recycling, waste minimization and diversion as a primary focus before incineration?
What civil, legal or regulatory actions, if any, is your business involved in that imply significant impact on the environment (e.g., exceeding maximum allowable emissions)?
Has your business had significant incidents of noncompliance with U.S., state or foreign environmental or other corporate social responsibility laws within the past five years? (Significant incidents may include civil or criminal convictions or no contest pleas on matters that could negatively impact public health or welfare, the environment or the effectiveness of regulatory oversight.)
Is your business willing to partner with Practice Greenhealth in the identification of joint environmental initiatives? Such initiatives may include special joint projects, or receiving feedback on particular policies or activities.
Practice Greenhealth reserves the right and discretion, upon becoming aware of activities which diverge from these criteria, to remove a firm from membership. Practice Greenhealth’s general course of action for addressing noncompliance/conflict with the criteria is:
